Week 13 – Double Header Week!! – Preview

Fri, Jul 20, 2012

Hey Ballers! There’s been a bunch of schedule changes this week…but lucky for you, the site has got you covered! Here is the the correct schedule already updated by H on the site of what’s to come this Sunday. The weather forecast looks aqeaome, mid 80’s and sunny! So, after a couple of really uncomfortable weekends we should be good to go for our longest day of the season with 10 games starting at 10AM sharp. Probably a way better day to order 87 pizzas delivered to the park, by the way. Anyhow, let’s cooperate with the umps and keep it 3 and out unless games run late or your name is Cesar.

Spike Hill's Eric Finnegan cooling off for the hot double header weekend!

10A F’ing M

Mike O’Malley gets to pretend to accidentally oopsie-daisy walk The Barndog to kick-off this Sunday! R2R has picked up all 7 of their wins in the last 8 weeks and have their wheels set  in motion to bulldoze through the HIll in back-to-back Sundays. The Millards are clutch in bringing us post-win website awesomeness, so I’m setting the bar high for their combined recap work with Hawk, IF they can hold up the stop sign to the trophy-huggers amazing 2012 season.

Mendoza knocked the Bums out of the playoffs in 2011 and also handed them an 8 run loss in week#4. The Line is also two games ahead of RBar in the standings, but they match in losses.  The Bums have given up the third least runs in the league, but if they can’t find their bats in the next couple of weeks, they might as well put them up on Craig’s List for O’Malley’s bidding pleasure. (Week #13 is definitely not “Too Soon,” for that throwback gem.)

Aaron of the Yetti's look to take down the Betty!

Stop rolling your eyes Spike Hill because win or lose at 10AM,  you’ll be in some bad company facing the Pinks in your noon double-header. The Good Co. didn’t take last week’s fail lightly and just know they can step-up to this challenge, SH knocked ‘em out of their pink teddies when they took ‘em by 5  earlier in the season , but the Co are loving that second place seed in the play-off bracket and are proving you gotta more than just sparkle to steal their sunshine on any given Sunday. Game of the Week People!

Keeping a low profile this year, Black Betty is still doing what the Betty does and that’s win. This week we get a preview of the “if the playoffs were today” match-up with Betty vs Soft Spot. The Yeti’s are looking for a big win here to make .500 and ditch that losing record. Gentle Giant, Andy Becker, has had a solid 4 seasons playing with the Black and sharing in their championship dynasty. This is his last game, so let’s throw him some meatballs Pizza, so he can go out with a Bob-omb! (I dare Pizza not to comment.) Make sure you stop by and say goodbye to Becker…he LOVES to be the center of attention.

Sea Breeze sailing off into the ER.

A Breezeless Clem’s has got their division leader TNT for the Southside on field one. If you are heading to this one bring the Captian one of his favorite Nestaritas to numb the pain. The Teachers only beat Clemerica 7-5 in week#4!

In the game two slot at 2pm, Black Betty and Pete’s will face off in a rematch from their much heated game earlier this year. Pete’s pulled off a dramatic victory the last time they played, so the Betty will be trying to exact some revenge. Both teams are currently tied for second, and Pete’s will be looking for a big win to leapfrog into 2nd Place.

2nd chance is riding high on their first win! A/T is always riding high on something. This will be your game if you are looking for some great laughs and good dirty fun. Base hits and scruffy D will be in abundance on field one. If I were and Ump, this would be my first choice. The GBlack family are Mia Buttah’s biggest fans…hope she can make it out to this one.

Merhaut doesn't mind umping the long Gibson games. Nope, doesn't mind at all.

3 kings loves the Gibson maybe even more than they love Sam’s ump stylings.  Gibson left the game tying run on second when these two clubs last met and that was before they added El Train. This should actually be a good and  hopefully not  lonnnnng game. If I were umping this would be my last choice. Ha!

Vinny is back on the scene and will be rooting A/T on!

AT is up again at 6 with their second try at the Turkey’s Nest who clobbered them in week#7. All Star 3B Daniel is off the DL and sharpened his game with a solid performance last week. They’ll need him to hit like that again if they stand a chance against the Turks.

2nd Chance and the Gibson get their first game of the season in the bottom half of double headers for them both. This game will depend on who’s got the momentum rolling from their 4PMer. Regardless, it should be good fun to end the extended day and empty your coolers while passing on your game-day highlights to whoever is still sober enough to listen.

Cesar, stop reading this and go update the HR leaderboard. Also, Commissioner Godsy is currently looking for a new profile pic to replace his smoking monkey, anyone have any suggestions?

Extra time to make some magic for my camera, peoples!

Holland’s 2 Cents

Not much to say other than to please get your HR’s over to Cesar by early next week so we can update the list. I’m sure there’s going to be a LOT of bombs this weekend.

And in honor of Double Header Week, I present to you not one but TWO videos of hot chicks in athletic clothing. Enjoy!

My goodness, look at this Australian cutie warming up before her hurdles race.

And did you know the Olympics have cheerleaders?! Me neither! But, unfortunately, these lovely ladies didn’t make the cut, but there’s no reason why we can’t have them come down to the WSL.
