Stang is Ready to Play Ball!

Looks like a beautiful weekend is headed our way, so let’s get out there and finish off our cross-division play with a bang! We’ve got some great match-ups to discuss as we enter unlucky Week 13!!

Too bad Clem’s doesn’t play in the South because they’re really having their way over there, losing only to Good Co. This week they have their biggest test though with Spike Hill. Spike Hill has not had it so easy in their opposing division with two single run games, losing in one of them. I hope that Clem’s doesn’t decide to TP the Spike Hill bar pre-game night like they did to Pete’s last season…since the rest of us all know that the Spike players won’t hear about it until they all commute in on Sunday from their Manhattan Juice Bar.

It’s Mendoza vs Gibson over on field B in the Game of the Week!! Just kidding. The Gibson has had a tough season with a lot of new adjustments on their roster. They are going to have to really come together as a team Sunday and connect with their bats against ‘Doza who are cleaning house in a flawless bout with the North Division where they’re 3 and 0.

On field one the AT All Stars are in a two game slump and face a very cocky bunch of Turkeys who don’t get their feather’s ruffled too often. They both lost big games last week so they’ll be pullin’ out all the stops here. You’ll have to head on over if you want to catch the action though, since these two clubs have yet to send me a recap on what’s went down since their openers. So secretive!!

Good Company has only lost by a single run in 3 of their 4 losses this season, and the same for Black Betty in 2 of their 3!! Let’s see who can keep their cool this week in a heated match-up that’s anyone’s game! You gotta root for one of ’em…who’s it gunna be?? We decided to take the vote to the streets!! Who are you going to root for?!

Here are the final results:

Soft Spot has also had a tough time with the ballers of the North and need this W to even out to 2-2 before coming back to the South where they now sit in 6th place in a 4 way tie for 3rd. Reel 2 Reel is playing good ball with the 2nd to lowest RA on the season. The Yeti’s are going to run into trouble again if they can’t find their bats this week, period.

Over on Field B, The Loggers & RBar face-off! 4th Down hasn’t won a game since defeating Pete’s in week #9, which is when RBar started their winning streak when taking down Spike Hill! The Bums are looking to close out their North play here undefeated, they’re 3-0 vs the opposing division, and they look ready to sweep.

Turkey’s Teachers & 3 Kings will meet for the first time in history! TNT is starting to draw a crowd and momentum is building after a mid-season drought and 3 Kings Voting Champs are banging away with their bats. Both clubs are riding high on last week’s wins and have no idea what this Sunday will bring! Good luck to them both! We’ve got our eyes on you! (Editor’s Note: Which leads us to introduce our brand new YouTube Plug-In!! Take it away Hall and Oates!)

Pete’s vs. 2nd Chance. Pete’s is as solid as they have been all season with a tear-jerking loss to Spike Hill last week by one run…which could very possibly be blamed on a bad send from a 3rd base coach. (I saw it, and I’m sayin’ it!) 2nd Chance, we think you need to decide this week if you are the new team that your new 86ers jersey claims you to be or if you’re still those chickens running around with your heads cut-off. Get ALL your butts to the field and give these Candymen a game already, we know you got it in ya!!

Two days left ’til it’s ON!

– Carly:

Editor’s Note: The HR Leader Board is now updated there on the left. We’re halfway through the season with Bobby taking the lead. This week we are only showing the leaders with 8,6,5 and 4 HR’s since a ton of players have 3 or less. As the leaders pull away from the pack, we’ll continue to shorten the list.
