2018 Message from the Commish

Hellooooooo WSL Softball Players, Fans, Groupies and Fanatics!

Well, the weather is improving and here comes the sun! It’s been a long, long, lonely winter, and thankfully it’s mercifully almost over and we can get back to what we do best which is drinking and then mixing in the occasional softball game. This season, I am sure, is going to be the best season yet. The best ever! I say this every year, but this time I really mean it.

We had a lot going on this off-season. Teams have stocked up on new talent, there’s been some player movement and some new players have come into the league to show us what they got. As you know, this is still the best and most competitive co-ed league in the city, and we just keep getting better and better.

The next few weeks we’re going to have a lot of fun things happening: First, the schedule will be up shortly, so everyone keep your pants on. We have the final Spring Training this Sunday the 18th, we have the WSL HOF Tournament on the 25th, we have WSL Managers Meeting on the 29th, Easter Sunday Pick Up (after church, Easter Egg hunt and boozy brunch obviously) on April 1st (not a joke!), the Opening Day Party on April 7th and finally Opening Day on April 8th. WOO HOO!! Mark your calendars! In addition to all of this Graham is organizing a fundraiser for the HOF, please vote here.

Also, met with the Rules Committee a few weeks ago and a few things came of it.

First is we wanted to establish some rules to the WSL Facebook Page, which we have done so here. They are live and on the site and are in effect as of now. If you have any questions, please feel free to write me.

In addition to that, the Women of the WSL have organized a possible rule change. You can read their Open Letter to the WSL here.  The Managers of the WSL will be voting on this by ballot at our WSL Managers Meeting. If you have any questions, please reach out to Stephanie Gall.
