Message from the Commish: Playoffs and End of Season Party

Tue, Sep 9, 2014

Busy Commissioning…

Hello Players and Fans of the WSL! A quick message from the Commissioner’s Office.

I just wanted to reach out to everyone and say how happy I am with how this season went.

I cannot express my gratitude enough, to all of you who came down and played hard every Sunday, had a great time, hung out, made friends, made lovers, met your future husband or wife, and had a hand in making this (I think) one of the best co-ed leagues in the city. Thank you!

This Sunday is Round One of the Playoffs. I expect everyone to play hard, play fair and play safe. I know it can get intense, but remember, at the end of the day, it’s softball. So be cool!

For half the league, this Sunday will be the final game of the year. I truly hope you have enjoyed playing with us and you’ll be back next season!

However, it doesn’t mean the season is over! Keep in mind, we have three Sundays left, then on Sept 28th we will have Championship Sunday. This will be an all day event. We’re going to set up a DJ Booth with music and attempt to announce the All-Star and the Championship game. Mark your calendars!!

The schedule for Championship Sunday is as follows:
11am: Semi-Final Games
1pm: All-Star Game
3pm: Championship Game
5pm: End of Season Party at the Gibson!!

The Gibson will be hosting the End of Season Party this year and it’s going to be a fantastic time! We’re going to have some drinking games, entertainment, music, and of course the presentation of the Joe Fashion Trophy. For food we’re going to have Breezy’s Delicious BBQ, and even the Ceviche Guy in the park will be setting up in the back. You’re probably going to want to take Monday off. It’s going to be amazing, and I hope everyone can come and enjoy themselves on our final Sunday of 2014.

Again, thank you to everyone!! Hope you had a great time this year, and I look forward to these next few weeks of playoff softball, when it really counts!! Good luck!

And if you have any questions, or would like to help out, participate, got ideas or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me!

Thanks, all!
