2013 Spring Training!

Wed, Mar 13, 2013

Play ball!!!

Hello Players and Fans of the WSL!

Well, it’s about that time for Spring Training!

As many of you know, the softball fields at McCarren Park are unfortunately, still closed. We have spoken to the Parks Department and they have assured us that the fences will come down and the fields will be open by Opening Day, April 7th.

However, that’s left us the problem of where to get our practice in and warm up for the new season.

I’ve walked by the baseball fields at McCarren the past two Sundays and they have been open and available to play on.

So, what I’d like to do is begin our Spring Training and invite everyone down THIS SUNDAY, March 17th at noon.

Now, no one has the permits for the baseball fields, so the field is open. This means that we’ll have to get there early enough to secure it. I know noon is dang early, but it’ll be for the best to make sure we get it. Might even be a good idea to get there even earlier.

In all honesty, who knows if this will work out, it’s only one field and it might be tight, there might be soccer teams in the outfield, who knows?! But it’s the best thing we can do right now to get out there and try to work off the rust and get back to drinking heavily.

Feel free to shoot this around everyone on your team. We’ll try our best to organize this as best as possible.

If you are a NEW player and trying to get onto a team, please come on down. Once there you’ll have to do your best to ask around to see who manages teams, if they need players, etc…Good luck!!

Thanks all!
