Make Up Week Recap

Tue, Sep 11, 2012

Pizza paying off his debt of Sausage and Peppers!!

Well, it was a beauty out there on Sunday for our final make-up games to close out the regular season. Stay tuned for news on the End of Season Kegger and the first ever WSL Bracket Tourney challenge as we head into the play-offs! Great season to everyone!!

11AM

Clems and Soft Spot put on a good show and Dietz earn a recap spot! Take it away. “Softball is a great game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose and sometimes it rains…and it really rained on Saturday so when the Sunday 11am’s rolled around there were more rakes, shovels and squeezers in action than gloves bats and balls. And in the spirit of this league each field was worked over by the various teams and players so that when the games did get underway the fields were better manicured than most weekends throughout the season. To the game. Breeze vs Pizza the Re-match. Peppers vs BarBQ — winner take all. Clem’s was looking for a season sweep of the Yetis, while Soft Spot was looking to wrap up the sixth seed with a win. And the Yetis did not disappoint. Aaron was a single short of a cycle, Zak found a gap and never stopped running, Steff, Brian, Steve, Toolan were hot with the sticks as were Stephanie, April and Julissa. A total team effort top to bottom had Clem’s on its heels early. The always potent Clem’s bats were silenced by the Yeti D that this time of year is at its most stingy. In the 9th up 11-4 Steph came in to close out the win for Pizza and guarantee delicious Pig for the entire squad, but Clem’s saved their best for last knocking in 4 to make it close at 11-8. On the sideline Pizza could only watch helplessly knowing that a giant comeback would mean an additional plate of Gabba Goo, but the culinary Gods interceded and Clem’s couldn’t push any more runs across the plate before a final fly ball fell into Aaron’s glove ending the threat and the regular season. Bon Appetite!”

Matt and Amanda are excited for their wedding, while Matt’s spurned lover Alejandro looks on. Poor fella.

Pete’s rallies back after a loss last week to take the season closer from the Loggers. Matt is missing the play-offs for his Jersey Shore wedding…so he played his final 2012 game here unless the Candystore can make it to the Championship! Congrats to him and Amanda!! Softball and the Jersey Shore….I’m starting to think that Matt’s British accent is about as real as that singers from Green Day. He does wear tight fitting clothing though….

1PM

The Gibson scored first! It was all downhill after that. Spike Hill is like really good, I’d watch out for them in the play-offs if I were you guys.

Meanwhile, Rbar made up their final game against Black Betty squad. go ahead H: “Umm, Black Betty played good, Rbar played good. Betty was lucky that Bobby wasn’t there. Speaking of Bobby, look at that cool image I made over there for him winning the WSL HR Contest! Woop! (tweets own nipple) Anyway, looking forward to the playoffs!!”

A/T in Playoff Form!

3PM

Just a couple of scrimmages to keep in shape for the play-offs for the non-football loving boys & girls of the league. Party was definitely at the drunk tank as Gerald & Mickey showed off their break dancing skills for the kiddies.

5PM

Good Co beat 3Kings in their season closer and has a special recap spot this week dedicated from one pink lady to another:

I’m curious…are one of these Nippledick or Dicknipple?? The plot thickens.

“My Dearest Nippledick,

It was so lovely to see you on Sunday.  Your two home runs were quite the turn on, but not as much as that Sam T guy who had a single, double and 2 home runs. Why didn’t he stop at third to get the cycle? And does his hair always look like he just pleasured himself to a J Crew catalog? I guess I wouldn’t have let him stop at third base either, if you know what I mean.  Speaking of J-crew, the guy in the sailing shorts, Rob, I think he went like 17 for 17 although I still don’t understand the slide at home. Mike V school of baserunning maybe? David Herman truly ended the season gracefully with the pirouette in center, but that guy yelling at him all game, you know the self-proclaimed closer, seemed to be a real dick. Not a Nippledick though, you’re my only Nippledick. See you next week at 11.

Sometimes yours,

Dicknipples”

Sam slinging that crab!!

That sums up our final week or regular season play and the seeding is all finalized for the 2012 WSL Playoffs! I hope you made it out to the Candystore for the Crab and Clam boil, because Sam definitely knows how to do it up! I was seriously impressed with the spread and a great crowd to boot!

Hugs and fat lip kisses,

Carly
