Week 11 – Preview

Sat, Jul 7, 2012

Week 11 marks the last of our games in our opposing division play before we start our second set of inter-division games for the final stretch of the season. Only eight weeks left already before we begin our new playoffs with a bracket tournament in the works! Cesar is updating the HR leaderboard as we speak…no really! So be sure to stay tuned! Holy crap it’s been hot out.

11AM

AT  has had a nice little run in the their former division going 2-1 and racking up 42 runs so far. They have Geralds former clan Black Betty this week who have spent the last two weeks getting back to a winning record.

Doza was hotter than hell last week in their rain day make-up and they get The Gibson Sunday to try and split games against the North and stay in contention for that top spot that the TNT club has had a firm hold on for some time. If Gibson can pull this off than I might officially be a bad luck charm.

1PM

It’s deja vu all over again on field one as Spike Hill is once again perfect heading in to face the RBar for their second season straight. This is the game of the week as Spike looks to sweep the South and not let whatever happened last time happen this time. If you are wondering what the hell I’m talking about well why don’t you go onto the site hit that little recaps button under my blog and bring up all the history. Scroll on down to Week 9 recap for 2011 and you can easily view my past brilliantly quoted text. Or you can just click this link if you’re as lazy as a Sly Cat Maddox: http://williamsburgsoftball.com/2011/05/week-9-recap/.

Good Co @ Petes, Field 2. Now this is going to be good… Both clubs are looking for an opposing division sweep, both are trying to hold onto 2nd place in their divisions and neither of them have lost since WEEK 5. They both also are a couple of the last teams left that don’t have a ton of kids to keep their eye on as they drink the weekend away so the after party should be as entertaining as the game itself. Cheers!

3PM

2nd Chance @ TNT. Oh, I don’t know…go team!!

Next up, 3 Kings vs Clems…you might not remember this, but these two were the team sevens added to each division a few years back bringing us to 14…remember all those freakin 9 and 10 AM headaches before it all got sorted out? That crazy hilarious post from Ethan of then UP to contest it, even though he’d moved to someplace where they eat Hydrangea? I do. This Sunday is their chance to prove who deserved it more. We’ll all be watching. (Also, I have a retraction from last week’s recap. Clems is trying to avoid getting swept in the North. Not South. whoops!)

5PM

Loggers are trying to split games against their former North division and Reel 2 Reel is trying to get above .500 on the season. This is anyone’s game.

The Soft Spot is having a tough season and The Turks aren’t going to make it any easier. The Nest shouldn’t rack up as many runs this weekend as they’re used to, but the Yeti’s are still going to need to have a big day at the plate if they want to top those Turkeys.

Don’t forget to show-off in front of Gerald this Sunday! Looks like it’s going to be a real scorcher…stay hydrated with lot’s of buds!

I’ll miss you guys!

Carly
