Week 18 – Preview

Thu, Jul 21, 2011

Gblack with a Twinkle in his Eye.

Tempers will be flaring early this Sunday in the South. Soft Spot & AT are both going over every scenario possible that ends with them in the playoffs and it starts with this game. The Yeti’s beat out the All Stars by 3 runs in their early season match-up. Over on field two, you can catch Gibson Vs Matty’s 3 Kings on a perfectly lined field Cow-pliments of a certain 5 Time Champion while the Gibson takes notes. The Kings are in 4th place right now, but after this week they face the Top 3 teams in the North!

At 1PM the 86xers and the Loggers face off. Both have the same record (3-10). Hmm…I think these guys need something to play for…I know, Cupcakes! I’ll bring ’em for the winners!! Back on Field One Clems is at the Candystore. In Week#2 Pete’s smacked Clems around in what even Mitchilicious couldn’t call a “close-one,” but Pete’s is looking like the Mets of the WSL these days. What the hell happened??

Get to the park and grab a spot early for either of the 3PM match-ups!! The storm continues in the North over on Field #2 with Reel 2 Reel vs The Turkey’s Nest. They are both tied for first place and they both haven’t loss a game since ‘Doza beat ’em. R2R has allowed the lowest amount of runs this season, 109, and they embarassed the Nest in week#2. Will the Turkey’s get their revenge?? In the South 3pm slot RBar has come a long way from that 2-4 start and are currently tied for 2nd place after a big win against Mendoza last weekend. Now they meet up with Black Betty in the Game of the Week! Betty has pulled ahead of the South Pack, but RBar is only two games back. If the Bums can walk away with the W Sunday they will have a good chance in finishing near the top of the division and securing a more desirable first round play-off than years past. Betty beat the Bums by 4 in week#4.

Spike Hill is looking to rebound in the North @ 5PM on Field #2 vs Good Co, who have been on a downward spiral after a solid 5-2 start. Spike Hill is paranoid & thinks the whole league is secretly playing against them. O’Malley is having all his bats thoroughly inspected for any tampering as we speak (Editor’s Note: Overheard in Spike Hill’s dugout last week from one of his players: “Hey, uh, so what is Spike Hill anyway?”) They will have to secure a win here against the Pink Ladies if they want to try and scoot back into first place. Last-up it’s Mendoza against Turkey’s Teachers on the other side. The Teachers stole the last one by a single run and need to take the rest of their games to even dream of a postseason. Mendoza can be unpredictable. Especially since they’ll be trying to help Good Co beat Spike Hill on the other field.

4 games left until only the cool people get to come to the park…oh wait…
