Week 11 – Preview

Thu, Jun 2, 2011

So, now that we’ve all had a nice long Memorial weekend celebrating D-Lo’s Birthday and/or the the crazy, drug-induced escapades of some chick in her birthday suit it’s time to get back down to league business. On with the Week #11 preview:

Baby-Boy, call yourself a cab ’cause you got the early slot this Sunday! The Yeti’s have fallin’ to 3rd Place in the South and need a win like…now. They’ll be butting heads with the Gibson who need a win like…every week from now until season end. They love each other though, so it should be a brews-a-flowin’ goodtime. Over on Field 2, AT is sitting in the throne of the South for the first time since…well, only Danimal knows! A word of advice to 3 Kings, The All Stars have allowed the least runs this season so I’d put the home run contest on hold this week.

The RBar Bums are still riding high after squeaking out an enormous win against those Spike Hill boys of the North, but the 86ers gave the five-time defending champs Black Betty, a tough time two weeks ago and are looking tight with their pitching staff. If 2nd chance knows those RBar batters they could trip-up the Bums on their run for .500. On the other side, The 1st Ever Big Bud-Way Series (of one game) is happenin’ over by the big tree! The Turkey’s Nest will be defending their namesake against the Turkey’s Teacher’s. The Teachers currently have the lowest runs-scored in the league, so they have better hit the cages in the off-time if they plan on schooling these veterans. Jordisco is putting the final touches on a brand new “good-game” smirk in the event that he gets to high-five off to victory.

Spike Hill get’s their first ever shot at Black Betty over on field 1! Expect the S#!T talkin’ to commence immediately upon arrival. I’m sure all the Spike Hill rookies have been properly prepared to battle it out with the champs, but this well-oiled machine is always ready and haven’t lost a game since Week #2. JB$ has been hard at work on a mix-tape that’s worthy to serenade, via iPod Boom Box, and make peace with his bat (Editor’s Note: This is game of the week!!). Across the way, Mendoza will also be looking to move to .500 against a tough Reel 2 Reel bunch who hasn’t lost a game since Week#3. Reel 2 Reel will try to edge them out with the 2nd best defense in the league. (I’m a little skeptical about their 4th place standing in the North.) These two clubs are well rehearsed on each others playbooks so it should be good times for all!

Good Co is on a 3 game winning streak and holding down 2nd place in their division. Even after a hard loss last week Pete’s has regained their confidence after viewing the Loggers recap photo set where they realized that they still look pretty bad-ass out there on the McCarren dirt! (click Sam below and view the slideshow by 4DL pro-photographer Erik Pendzich)!

Whatever the outcome, this post game show is sure to give you the munchies. Meanwhile, here come the Loggers over on field B!! They are going for two in a row up against the Clems in the last slot of the day. The 4D ladies are back off the DL & vacation & whatnot and are ready to help their team comin’ out of the slump! Clem’s better be ready.

WSL Home Run Leader Board!!
Big News!! The 1st ever WSL Home Run contest 2011 is underway, so I hope you all got your leaders in and on the board!! The WSL Leader Board is now posted and up to date for everyone to stay updated on who’s heading it up to take home the big prize! Which, let’s not forget, is a sweet, but inexpensive T-shirt, so lets keep it fun and fair out there and try not to take out little old ladies sitting for a breather on the world’s worst-placed park bench ever over in right on Field A. Cesar will be managing this section, so if you have any questions, changes, missing HR’s or want to send your updates, send them to him, his email:

Editors Note: We have also added a drop down under “Rules” above that gives explicit rules for a HR per the Commissioner’s rules. Please try to keep to these so we can have it fair and balanced.

The MTA NOT-Going Your Way!
Please note: The L Train is not running this weekend (and I’m not talking about this guy). Repeat: The L Train is NOT running this weekend. In an effort to work with the MTA, we’ve installed a little widget there on the left just in case someone at the last minute checks the site, this thing is supposed to give us updates on the trains.

Good Luck to you all, and my camera is already securely packed in my softball bag for this Sunday, so feel free to do something stupid!!

Your Survey Results!

More people voted in this survey than voted for who is going to win this year! Looks like the final total that people thought the woman was on was… SHROOMS!! The next most clicked response was Nothing-All Women Are Whacked. HA!
