Week 4 – Preview

Fri, Apr 15, 2011

After a bigger than big weekend we can all relax a bit, grab our cardboard trays of Big Buds and head to the fields with little to worry about heading into week 4 for most…well except for that 80% chance of rain nonsense.

Big Props to Soft Spot & Spike Hill, the only two undefeated teams left! Both holding the top spots in their respective divisions!

11:00AM
Reel 2 Reel & The Nest are both looking to bounce back after taking losses last week in the North. Expect these veteran teams to bring their A-games. Pete’s Candy Store sitting down in the 4th spot in the South is playing what looks like the best defense, allowing only 25 runs on the season, so Clem’s is not only going to need to bring those 36oz bats but figure out how to use them against these boys & girls as well!

1:00PM
3 Kings is really going to need to step-up this week against the Gibson if they are to continue their new and improved talk after dropping their last two. Expect this game to finish-up around 4pm or so. In the South, RBar & Black Betty meet for the first time since Betty bounced them from the play-offs last season. Both teams desperately need this win in what you can expect to be the “unshittiest” of the day’s match-ups. (If you need somewhere to go late Sat night, roll over to the RBar around midnight where members of Black Betty and RBar will be pounding them back in what’s become a pre-game tradition.)

3:00PM
Good Company will look to continue their winning streak and hand Spike Hill their first loss. While Mendoza Line, the lead scorers in the league, are going up against the Turkey’s Teachers who are still looking to find their bats racking-up the least runs so far.

5:00PM
AT All Stars can really make a statement this week by stopping Soft Spot in what should be a really fun game to watch at the close of the day. By then 3/4 of the league should be half in the bag. And finally, Those 2nd Chance Saloon 86ers are off and running and coming in with a lot of confidence against a deflated 4th Down Loggers. A win here could really lift those Logger spirits so look for them to come out strong!

One last plug – Graham’s Softball Kickoff Benefit is this Saturday @ Gibson 2-9pm.

– Carly
