Week 3 – Recap

Week #3 is in the books and here goes a better than usual recap! Thanks for all the feed-back folks…Let’s keep it comin’!!

The 2nd Chance Saloon 86’rs (yeah, that’s news to me as well) started the day out right, banging in 12 runs in the first 2 innings, and while 3 Kings steadily attempted a come-back, Lil Jeff blasted in a Big Grand Slam in the 7th and the Kings couldn’t recover… Al Buttah making a spectacular game ending catch to seal the W. On the other side, AT-27 Clem’s-5. The End.

Next up, Good Company & Reel 2 Reel both played solid D keeping the game within a couple of runs throughout, but Good Co. was finally able to string some hits together in the 8th and put a halt to R2R’s winning streak. Big offensive outing from the Good Co. ladies in this one! Meanwhile, The ‘Doza boys handed RBar their first win in what Godsy called a “shitty game.”

Needless to say, the 3PMers had little to complain about with everything pretty much on schedule as they strolled in with their breakfast burritos.

Spike Hill & Turkey’s Nest met in a tight match-up with 5 or 6 lead changes. All tied-up in the 7th, Spike Hill stole the show with a 5 run inning…the Nest were never heard from again giving up the top spot in the North. On field 2 or B or whatever we will rename it next season to try and confuse our drunk asses, Black Betty snagged their first win over the Teacher’s of the Nest.

Ending the day, Soft Spot were able to keep Pete’s at bay and secure control of the South. Big Props to Jewel’s with all hits, all day, and the honor of cuddling at home with the game ball! Meanwhile, Gibson proved who wanted Geoff’s free post-game Jameson shots more and edged out 4th Down narrowly escaping last place in the North.
